POS Transactions not Processing

Incident Report for Dripos

Postmortem

We sincerely apologize for the disruption this afternoon and understand how important it is for Dripos to be reliable during your day-to-day operations. Below is a brief summary of what happened and the steps we’re taking.

What Happened
Earlier today, from approximately 1:46pm to 1:58pm ET, Dripos experienced a service disruption caused by an internal automated process that placed unexpected strain on our production database. This temporarily impacted the availability of some Dripos services, like payments.

How it Affected You
During this window, transactions were not processing with any payment method, and attempts to complete an order would eventually result in a checkout error. Some affected orders may have appeared as “Pending Payment” in saved orders on your POS or as “Unpaid” on your web dashboard.

What We’re Doing About It
Service was fully restored within 15 minutes. Our engineering team is reviewing the incident and implementing additional safeguards to prevent internal processes from impacting production systems in the future.

Reimbursement
We were able to capture and reconcile most of the transactions that occurred and properly display those in your account.

Some payments were processed successfully, but then refunded if the “Retry Payment” button was engaged on the POS. Those transactions then displayed as “Pending Payment” in the POS. Dripos has reimbursed all pending payment transactions, and those transactions should also appear normally in your account.

These reimbursements were sent directly to your connected account and will be included in your next regularly scheduled payout. These orders were also marked as paid with their original line items and customer details intact, so your reporting stays accurate. No action is needed on your end, other than processing any orders taken in offline mode.
____________

We take seriously the trust you place in us to keep your operations running, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused. Thank you for your patience with our team today.
